Zhang Tao is now the director of China Writers Association’s International Liaison Department and Office of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs. gained Bachelor of Arts in English literature at English Department of Sichuan International Studies University from 1982 to 1986. After that, he pursued Bachelor of Laws through two-year study in international law and international relations at Department of International Politics, Renmin University of China. From 1994 to 1995, he pursued further study at the London School of Economics and Political Science
He has long served as organizer and translator of foreign exchange of Chinese literature. Apart from being responsible for literature forums and exchanges of domestic and foreign writers, he has been engaged in other multilateral literary activities including International Sinologists Conference on Translating Chinese Literature and International Writing Program.
