墨普德，印度诗人、民俗学家、翻译家、跨文化研究家、语源学家、大学教授。毕业于新德里尼赫鲁大学汉语与中国文学、文化专业，复旦大学中国现代文学专业，北师大中国民俗学、民间文学专业。现任印度尼赫鲁大学教授。曾四次任尼赫鲁大学中国与东南亚研究中心主任。曾于2008-09年间在深圳大学担任印度文化学访问教授。他主要译作有孟加拉文译本的《毛泽东诗词全集与文学赏析》、《鲁迅诗集》、《艾青诗歌、寓言集》、《胡志明在华的“狱中日记”》，印地文译本《中国当代诗歌集》， 英译本《跨文化的印象：艾青、巴勃罗·聂鲁达、尼克拉斯·桂连诗歌集》等；著有英文《汉藏社会反映于民间文学》、《伟大民众领袖鲍斯在东亚的印度解放运动：中国、印度档案馆解密的文件》、《汉语普通话语音音节教程：印度学生手册》等书籍。2002年获中国教育部文化奖、2014年荣获中华图书特殊贡献奖。

Priyadarsi Mukherji, Indian poet, folklorist, translator, intercultural researcher, etymologist and university professor. He majored in Chinese and Chinese literature and culture in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi, modern Chinese literature in Fudan University and Chinese folklore and folk literature in Beijing Normal University. Currently, he is a professor at JNU. He has been the director of Centre for Chinese and South East Asian Studies for four times in JNU. He was a visiting professor of Indian culture at Shenzhen University in 2008-09. His main translated works include: Bengali translation of Complete Poems of Mao Zedong and the Literary Analysis, Poems of Lu Xun, Poems and Fables of Ai Qing and Allegory Collection and The Prison Diary of Ho Chi Minh During His Captivity in China, Hindi translation of Anthology of Contemporary Chinese Poetries, and English translation of Cross-Cultural Impressions: Ai Qing, Pablo Neruda and Nicolás Guillén, etc. His books include an English book Chinese and Tibetan Societies through Folk Literature, Subhash Chandra Bose, the People’s Great Leader’s Indian Liberation Movement in East Asia: Documents Declassified by Chinese and Indian Archives, and Chinese Sounds and Syllables: A Handbook for Indians. He won the Chinese Cultural Research Fellowship awarded by the Ministry of Education of China in 2002 and Special Book Award of China in 2014.
