今天我非常高兴再次与你们相聚一起，参加在中国广东省举办的“21世纪海上丝绸之路”文学发展论坛。我谨代表柬埔寨高棉作家协会，与各国作家一起，对中方各位领导表示诚挚的感谢和敬意。在这吉祥的时刻，我要感谢中国作家协会、广东作家协会邀请我们相聚这里，以加强合作，实现繁荣，满怀希望。

这里请允许我回顾一下丝绸之路的历史。丝绸之路是世界历史上最著名的古代贸易路线。它连接着东方世界，从古都长安一直延伸到西方世界，远至欧洲的地中海沿岸。

公元前60年，汉代设立了西域都护府，延伸至乌垒西部（现轮台县附近），以控制和确保这条道路安全，交通更加便捷。在唐代时期，丝绸之路成为了中国最重要最繁荣的经济通道，因而这一时期被称作丝绸之路的“黄金年代”。

元代皇帝忽必烈汗、马可·波罗，特别是备受仰慕的唐玄奘在出使印度获取真经后返唐时曾经过此路。除了古老的关于唐僧的传说，还有更多的故事被这条路上的过客口口相传。在没有电话、电视和互联网的时代，这便是一种生活方式。

习近平主席提出了“一带一路”的伟大构想，邀请世界各国共同参与到丝绸之路建设中来，旨在实现共享、合作、共谋发展、共创繁荣。这条路将能够排除万难，而修建道路、跨海大桥则被视为开辟中国历史新时期的象征。

这条路沿线的一切几乎都发生了改变，这使得这条路成为了沟通欧亚文化的桥梁。除了东西方的经济交流和政治沟通之外，许多宗教和教派也传入中国，包括佛教、伊斯兰教以及其他宗教。这一切都成为了中国古代到现代的文化瑰宝。

诸位阁下、女士们，先生们……

柬埔寨和中国有着悠久的友谊，所有国内外的柬埔寨人和历史学家都听说过13世纪出使吴哥王朝的中国外交官周达观，他记录了当时柬埔寨王国的日常生活和传统习俗。他详实的中文记录已经被翻译成了高棉语和其他许多种语言，让世人了解了“黄金时代”的柬埔寨。周达观先生至今仍然远近闻名，尤其是他参与中柬友谊推进活动的事迹至今仍为人所熟知。

在我们生存的当今世界，前国王诺罗敦·西哈努克几乎在所有领域，都是柬中友谊的缔造者。他留下了大量的高棉语和法语杰作来评价柬埔寨和中国的友谊。特别是在写作领域，20世纪50年代，作为国家元首，他一直支持柬埔寨高棉作家协会。我们有一个很好的见证人，那就是李泰腾先生，他可以算作半个中国作家。

柬埔寨作家一直把中国文化和文学视为最古老的文化和文学，直至今日，这些文化对柬埔寨人民的生活仍然有很大的影响。此外，作为中国特别行政区的香港，其文学和电影也在柬埔寨人民中很受欢迎。我们有时把有着迷人微笑的漂亮的柬埔寨女性比作港星。这样的比喻被一些作家写入到他们的作品或小说中去，使他们的作品给人留下更加深刻的印象。说实话，柬埔寨作家有着准确的中文能力，总是站在队伍的最前线。

当前的柬埔寨作家一直致力于小说、诗歌创作，佳著翻译等工作。在从事写作、增进友谊、以及与世界各国和平相处等方面，我们尽了最大的努力，当然，我们尤其希望柬埔寨人民和中国人民增进我们的长期友谊。同时，柬埔寨政府与总理兼柬埔寨高棉作家协会名誉主席洪森先生一直全力支持写作事业，以及继承“王父”诺罗敦·西哈努克加强柬埔寨人民与中国人民友谊的崇高事业。

诸位阁下、女士们、先生们……

在这个数字时代，为了使我们的合作顺利进行，特别是在促进基础设施互联互通的基础上实现我们“以海上丝路促文学发展”的共同目标，我相信数字连接是必要因素。与此同时，我们应该高度重视科学、技术、创新等研究，因为它们是通过创造更多就业岗位和加强社会福利体系建设来支撑经济可持续发展的基石。此外，科学、技术、创新是推进区域一体化、鼓励人与人的交流的刺激因素，并且能够提高电子商务、银行、金融计算等不同部门的运作效率。但是，如果没有作家在写作领域的分享和互动，科学、技术和创新都难以实现其意义。

最后，我祝愿“21世纪海上丝绸之路文学发展论坛”圆满成功，也祝诸位阁下、女士们、先生们身体健康、幸福美满、诸事顺利。

The Silk Road Is The Road Of Friendship 

Pranit (Cambodia) 

It is my greatest pleasure today to have participated once again with Your Excellency, ladies and gentlemen in Maritime Silk Road Forum for Literature Development, held in Guangdong, China. On behalf of Khmer Writers Association, I would like to express my profound loyalty and respect to Chinese Leader together with writers from different countries. In this auspicious time, I would like to pay my thankfulness to China Writers Association, Guangdong Provincial Writers Association, for inviting and bringing us right here together to strengthen our cooperation to be prosperous and hopeful.  

Let me remind about the history of the Silk Road which was the most well-known ancient trade route in the world’s history. The Silk Road connected the eastern world, started from the ancient capital city of Chang'an (now Shaanxi Province) of the great China to the western world as far as the Mediterranean Sea of Europe. 

In 60 BCE, the Han Dynasty formed a colonial area to the west of Wu Lei (near Luntai Province) in order to control and ensure that this road was safe with better traffic. In the Tang Dynasty Era (AD 618-907) this Silk Road was called Golden Age as it became the most important and prosperous economic road of China

Emperor Kublai Khan, Marcopolo; and most particularly, Venerable Tang Cheng, the monk who went to copy the Dhamma in India and returned back on this road. Besides the legend of Venerable Tang Cheng, there were still more stories all along this road shared by passengers upon their meeting all through the road. These were the way of life on the Silk Road in the time without telephones, televisions, and internet.  

In these days, President Xi Jinping has initiated the Silk Road promotion and invited the world to happily participate in the road construction aiming at sharing and collaborating in the development toward a prosperous future and shaping prosperity for the world as a whole. This road will be able to get rid of all obstacles; whereas building roads, sea-crossing bridge have been counted as setting up a new history of China.

As mentioned above, almost everything has been changed along this road, which makes this road become a culture-crossing bridge between Asia and Europe. Beside the exchange of the economic sector and politics between the east and the west, many religions and cults flowed into China including Buddhism, Islam, and other cults believing in astronomy, etc. All these things have become the cultural property of China from the ancient time to the present.

Your Excellency, Ladies, and Gentlemen....!

Cambodia and China have had such a long-time friendship! All local and international Cambodian people and historians know that Zhou Daguan was a Chinese diplomat in Angkor Empire during 13 Century; who kept records on the daily living and tradition of the Kingdom of Cambodia at that time. His detailed record in Chinese has been translated into Khmer and many other languages that make the world know about Cambodia in the Golden Age. Mr. Zhou Daguan is still famous in the present day. He had notably participated in Cambodian-Chinese Friendship up to the present. 

In the current century of our existence, the former king Norodom Sihanouk was the builder of Cambodian –Chinese friendship almost in all fields, especially in the writing field. He left behind a great deal of his masterpieces in Khmer and French in evaluating Cambodian-Chinese friendship. In 1950s, as the head of state, he always supported the Khmer Writers Association. We have got a wonderful witness, that is Mr.  Ly Thiem Teng as the half-Chinese writer.

Cambodian writers have regarded the Chinese culture and literature as the oldest ones; and these cultures have highly effected the livelihood of Cambodian people up to these days. Furthermore, Hong Kong Literature and movies, as the Special Administrative Region of China also become very popular among Cambodian people. We sometimes compare beautiful Cambodian girls with attractive smile to those of Hong Kong stars. Such comparison, a number of writers include into their writing work or novels that make their piece of work more impressed. To put it straight, Cambodian writers with accurate Chinese language skills always stay at the front of the line.

The current young Khmer Writers have been working hard on writing novels, poet, and translating good books. We have tried our best in writing and motivating friendship as well as making peace with other countries around the world, especially, we surely want to better friendship between Cambodian and Chinese people with better long-term history. In the meantime, the royal government of the Kingdom of Cambodia with Samdech Akkamoha Senapadei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister and the Honorary President of the Khmer Writers Association, he has always provided with full support for the writing sector and the continuation of highest cause of former King Father, Norodom Sihanouk, in strengthening better friendship between Cambodian and Chinese people.

In this digital era, in order that our collaboration goes smoothly, and especially, to achieve our joint goal on the subject of “Maritime Silk Road for Literature Development” in addition to the importance of connecting physical infrastructure, I do believe that the digital connection is one of the needed factors. Meanwhile, we have to place high priority on the research on science, technology, and innovation; counted as the main foundation to support for sustainable economic growth through developing more jobs and strengthen social welfare system. Additionally, science, technology and innovation are the one stimulant in propelling the region integration, encouraging communication between people to people; and improving the effectiveness of the operations of different sectors, such as E-commerce operation, bank operation, financial calculation; which cannot be without experience sharing and exchanging between writers in the writing sector.

At last, I would like to bless the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Forum for Literature Development all the best and Your Excellency, Ladies and Gentlemen with good health, great happiness, and success in all responsibilities.
